After a long wait, Google released a new artificial intelligence technology. Google is introducing this AI model, named Gemini, in hopes of challenging language models including OpenAI’s Chat GPT. Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai said Gemini is the culmination of eight years of work.
Gemini will be available in three modes – Ultra, Pro and Nano. As the name implies, Gemini is the largest large language model in ultra mode, and is used to perform AI tasks. Pro mode has a medium-sized language model and Nano mode has the smallest large language model for AI work. It is believed that the nano model can be installed and run on computers and phones. Customers can interact with Gemini through text, images and voice.
Open AI has revolutionized the field of AI by introducing Chat GPT and is leading the way in this field. Other companies, including Google, are trying to compete with Open AI. Earlier, Google introduced a chat bot called Bard, but Bard is yet to gain acceptance for Chat GPT. It is believed that through Gemini, Google will be able to better respond to the threats posed by companies including Open AI.
Google DeepMind co-founder and CEO Demis Hassabis said Gemini is ahead of humans in many language-related tasks. Gemini Ultra is proficient in 57 subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Law, Medicine and Ethics. It excels in general knowledge and finding answers to questions.
Google has stated that Gemini will be included in Google’s products and services. Google’s chat bot, Bard, will also use Gemini AI technology. This will increase the bard’s abilities. Gemini Nano will be included in Google Pixel phones. Gemin AI will also be included in Google Search, Google Ads, Chrome and Duet AI.
