1. Jasim’s real name is Abul Khair Jasim Uddin.
2. In 1973, Jasim started his career as a villain in the late Zahirul Haque’s ‘Rangbaaz’ (Bangladesh’s first action film).
3. He acted in the lead role for the first time in the film ‘Sabuj Sathi’ directed by the same director.
4. Freedom fighter Jasim fought against the Pakistani invasion forces led by Major Haider in Sector Two in the War of Independence in 1971.
5. Jasim created a stir with Dewan Nazrul’s ‘Dost Dushman’. ‘Dost Dushman’ is a remake of Hindi hit film ‘Sholay’.
He played Gabbar in the film. Even the Indian villain Amjad Khan, modeled after the iconic character of the film Khod Sholay, Gabbar Singh, praised Jasim.
6. Jasim’s contribution to the advancement of modern Bengali cinema after independence is undeniable. Because, Jasim was the promoter of the action genre in Bangladeshi films and started the ‘Fighting Group’.

9. It was Jasim who invented today’s hero Riaz. In 1994, Riaz visited BFDC with his cousin Babita and caught the attention of Nayak Jasim.
Jasim then offered him acting. In 1995, Riyaz acted in a film called ‘Banglar Nayak’ with Jasim.
10. Jasim has three sons. Ratul, Rahul, Sami. Among which Ratul and Sami are the bassists and drummers of ‘Owned’ band (this band is currently a trending band). Rahul is the guitarist of the band ‘Trainwreck’ (drummer of this band who later joined the band Vaish) and Sami is the drummer of ‘Porahor’.
11. Jasim’s first wife was Dreamgirl famous actress Sucharita. Later he married Nasreen, daughter of Purnima Sengupta, the heroine of Dhaka’s first Sabak film.
