One of the popular streaming platforms Netflix is all set to increase the rates of its subscription plans. The Wall Street Journal reports that the rate hike will be implemented within months, citing sources. If the report is true, the rate hike is expected to take effect by the end of this year or early next year.
This rate increase may be implemented in different countries of the world. But it will be implemented in the US and Canada first. India’s name is not mentioned anywhere in the report, but it is believed that there may be rate hikes in countries including India. Last year too, Netflix had hiked its subscription rates. It is not clear how much rupees will be increased this time.
Although this increase was not introduced in India, it introduced restrictions on password sharing. However, we will have to wait until it is implemented to see if that will happen this time. Otherwise, Netflix itself will have to make an official announcement.
