The country believes that the promising industries of the country should be taken forward for the implementation of Saudi Arabia Vision 2030. One of the promising industries is the cinema industry. Therefore, Saudi Arabia has undertaken a comprehensive plan for the development of this industry.
After 1970, Islamic leaders in Saudi Arabia closed down cinemas. That is why there was no cinema hall in the country for 35 years. In 2018, the country’s royal family decided to lift the ban on cinema halls.
Not only that, the country’s first cinema hall was opened in Riyadh on April 18 that same year. Since then, as the number of halls in Saudi Arabia is increasing, so is the number of visitors.
