Entertainment Desk: Veteran Bollywood actress Waheeda Rehman is receiving ‘Dadasaheb Phalke’ award.
India’s Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said, ‘Eminent actress Waheeda Rehman has been selected for the Dada Saheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award this year.’
In a tweet on Tuesday (September 26), Anurag Tagore said, ‘Wahidaji (Wahida Rehman) will be presented with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phal Lifetime Achievement Award for her outstanding contribution to Indian cinema. I am delighted and proud to make this announcement.’

He has given many movies in his career of five decades. He won the National Film Award for the movies ‘Reshma’ and ‘Shera’. Wahidaji has also received Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan. She is a shining example of an Indian woman power who, with hard work, has made a name for herself in the professional world.’ Anurag Tagore said.
The actress is the mother of a daughter
Wahida Rehman entered Bollywood in 1956 with the movie ‘CID’. After the success of this movie, in 1957, she acted as the heroine in the movie ‘Paysa’. He also acted in Satyajit Ray’s ‘Abhiyaan’.
Waheeda Rehman’s work in Hindi cinema has been particularly appreciated. Notable movies he acted in are – ‘Peyasa’, ‘Kagaz Ka Phool’, ‘Saheb Bibi Or Golam’, ‘Guide’, ‘Khamoshi’ etc.
